Thrive Nutrition and Wellness won the 2010 Rising Star Award presented by the Canadian Health Food Association at its recent annual conference. The award recognizes a newly established natural product supplier or retailer for overall excellence within the first three years of its operation. Thrive, which opened in late 2008, is the only health store in Winnipeg with a certified nutritionist on staff. Daniel Madrid opened Thrive after completing a Bachelor of Science in human nutritional sciences at the University of Manitoba.
